Hunting

Great hunting opportunities abound all around Leota. With the exception of Elk, virtually every huntable species of animal in Michigan can be found in the forests and hills surrounding Leota. Big game hunters can pursue Whitetail deer and Black Bear. Upland bird hunters will find Ruffed Grouse, Woodcock and Pheasants. Waterfowlers can hunt ducks and geese on the rivers, marshes and lakes. Small game hunters will find many rabbits and squirrels. And turkeys have become a common site throughout the area. The best part is that there are over 50,000 acres of state land in Clare County to hunt. Leota is truly a hunters paradise!
